Confidentiality: messages are reviewed by UIAN staff only. We do not share contact data with third parties beyond the partners directly working on a request, and only with consent.
All policies below are drafts during the foundation setup phase. Final versions will be reviewed by counsel and dated. Status updates appear on the Transparency page.
UIAN collects only the information needed to respond to a request, accept a donation, manage a partnership or administer the foundation. We do not sell donor data. We do not share personal data with third parties beyond service providers required to deliver our programs and donations, and only under appropriate confidentiality terms.
Visitors can request access to their personal data, ask for corrections or request deletion, subject to legal obligations such as donation records.
Donors receive a written acknowledgment for each donation. Donors may request anonymity from public reports. Donor information is never sold or rented. Restricted donations to a specific program are tracked separately and reported back to the donor.
If a donation is made by mistake, in an incorrect amount, or as a result of a technical error, contact us within 30 days. We will work with the donor to provide a refund or correction. Recurring donations can be cancelled at any time. Refund requests after 30 days are reviewed individually.
The UIAN website is provided for informational purposes. The site does not provide legal, medical or financial advice for individual cases. Resources and guides on the site are general information reviewed by qualified specialists, but they are not a substitute for consulting a licensed professional about a specific situation.
UIAN aims to follow Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 AA. The site uses semantic HTML, focus styles, sufficient color contrast, scalable text, mobile-friendly layouts and reduced-motion support. UIAN follows standard nonprofit governance practices: a written conflict of interest policy with annual disclosure for board and staff, and a whistleblower policy that protects people raising concerns about financial integrity, safety or conduct.
